Science Fair at Sea

The Africa Mercy had a rough 9 days at sea making our way to Madagascar, but that didn't stop the students preparing their Science Fair projects even when it was postponed due to rough seas. The Students began their projects while we were in route to South Africa from the Canary islands and finished during the middle of the sail from South Africa to Madagascar. We had every thing from play dough (from the lovely Grade 1 class) to water bottle rockets and mummified apples. There seems to be little limit for the students even on a Ship sailing and/or docked off the coast of Africa.

Xavier and Charlotte made their own play dough. We tested two different recipes to find which was the best. It was interesting trying to do the scientific method on a grit grade level but everything turned out really nice.
