Two Weeks In!

We will be pulling into Congo tomorrow just as we are finishing our second week of school in the Africa Mercy Academy. Above are my superhero first graders from around the world. They are a great group of kids. I have loved every minute of my time in the Academy! I can't believe God has put me in such an amazing place to live and work. It is wonderful to be back in the classroom again and I have a great team of teachers to serve with as well.

I love being part of a team that is equipping the next generation while their parents are able to serve in other capacities around the ship including medical, engineering, deck, education and more. I am looking forward to getting to know these students and their families this year.

More to come from first grade....

Just a glimpse at what's ahead:

The hospital team will be busy setting up the hospital this week and preparing for surgeries that will follow our big screening day August 28th. This is where people with tumors, cleft lips and more from all over Congo come to see if Mercy Ships can help them. I was able to help with this last year and it was amazing to see each Mercy Shiper show so much love and care for each African that came through the screening process. It's a difficult day because some can be helped but many can not. Please pray that God will give the doctors and nurses wisdom and that every person that comes to the screening will experience God's love.
