We finished our field service yesterday and boarded the Africa Mercy! The last week of our field service was so great. We had the opportunity to visit a Christian
elementary school started about a year ago by our translator Aly. We went in
and did 2 days of VBS including the creation story and Daniel in the lion’s
den. We learned from Aly that although the school teaches Christian principles,
95% of the students are Muslim. What an opportunity we had to share Jesus with these
students. It was really great to see Aly’s passion to serve the kids and show
Jesus’ love to them.
With the younger kids we made puppets to go with our Daniel in the Lions Den Story |
Our VBS team with Aly and his students outside the school |
With the older kids we made books about Daniel and the Lions Den |
Most of the Kids come to school hungry. They are fed a full lunch every day before they head home. |
Darrion, Amy. Marilyn, Esther and I about to leave for the Africa Mercy! |
As I sit, drinking coffee of course, in the dinning room of the Africa Mercy I can't believe I am finally here! I feel so blessed to have the opportunity to serve here! More to come....
